About Us

TUZA International Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization established to alleviate hunger, promote health and well-being, and foster education, cultural identity, and social development. Founded by Fidella, a mother and a former refugee born in Rwanda to parents who fled Burundi’s civil war, the organization stems from her personal journey and the values imparted by her parents. Fidella was deeply influenced by their guiding principle: “Uzakunde kandi uzafashe uwariwe wese udatoranije,” meaning “Love and help everyone without discrimination, regardless of race, ethnicity, status, or background.”

Having faced the hardships of orphanhood and displacement, Fidella understands the critical need to support vulnerable communities, particularly orphans, single parents, and those enduring extreme hardships. TUZA International Inc. was created with this mission in mind. The name “TUZA,” which means “relax,” symbolizes Fidella’s commitment to ensuring that everyone can experience peace—physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially—despite life’s challenges.

About Us Image-1

Globally, vulnerable populations, including orphans and single parents, often lack access to essential support systems, education, and economic opportunities, leaving them trapped in cycles of poverty and marginalization. This lack of comprehensive support often leads to feelings of isolation, making it harder for individuals to build sustainable livelihoods and overcome adversity.

In Kentucky, these issues are particularly pronounced. Vulnerable groups, including orphans and single parents, face significant barriers to accessing the resources and services they need to thrive. The 2017 Kentucky Minority Health Status Report highlighted that minority communities, especially younger individuals, are disproportionately affected by poverty, which in turn impacts their health and well-being. Without strong support networks, these individuals are often left isolated, struggling to navigate challenges and build resilient lives.

TUZA International Inc. seeks to address these systemic issues, working to break down barriers and foster inclusive, empowered communities in Kentucky and beyond. By providing education, economic opportunities, and access to essential services, TUZA aims to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their circumstances, have the opportunity to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
